Jason Thompson, a Baton Rouge Police Officer that heads up our Security Detail, just stopped by my home and told me about an incident in LSA Tuesday evening.  A burglar went into an unlocked side door to a garage, and opened an unlocked car door and ransacked the vehicle looking for valuables.  A purse had been left in the vehicle with approx. $120 cash and I  believe credit cards were also stolen.  The LSA homeowners discovered the burglary Wednesday morning and reported it to the police today.  When they discovered the break-in, they realized that their pick-up truck was also left unlocked, with a shotgun inside of it.  The pick-up truck was probably parked in the garage after the break-in, but the owners hadn't noticed that the other vehicle had been ransacked yet.  A motion light is in the breazeway, but the light was out.

Another LSA resident also had an unlocked vehicle ransacked last week.  Fortunately, no valuables were left in that vehicle.

Fellow LSA neighbors...we are our 1st line of defense!  Criminals are everywhere looking for opportunites...don't give them one!
