On behalf of the
Sherwood Lake Association, we welcome you to Lake Sherwood Acres. We
know that you and your family will be happy living here. Please make
sure to visit our website at
www.lakesherwoodacres.com, it contains a lot of important
information about events and issues concerning our neighborhood.
The Sherwood Lake
Association and the Lake Sherwood Club Association are non-profit
organizations and were formed in 1973 under the State of Louisiana
Laws. All residents are legally required to participate. Your annual
assessments are due on March 1st of each year. The
assessments for 2009 are $671 for on-lake lots and $421 for off-lake
lots. These assessments include $224 for your membership in the Lake
Sherwood Club Association (pool, tennis courts, etc.) and $72 for
security patrols. The balance is for lake and common grounds
maintenance, insurance, reserve funds and operating expenses. Annual
meetings of the Sherwood Lake Association are held each January. We
cannot overemphasize the importance of your attendance and participation
in these meetings. As needed, special meetings may be called.
Our neighborhood has
Covenants and Restrictions that were legally filed with the state in
1973. They are administered by the Lake Sherwood Council, which is made
up of three members from the Sherwood Lake Association Board of
Directors. A copy of the Covenants and Restrictions (revised June 2005)
is included in this packet. Please review these Covenants and
Restrictions and keep in a safe place for future reference.
The Lake Sherwood
Garden Club is a social club open to all ladies of Lake Sherwood Acres
and Deerfield Village.
We have included a list
of important numbers for services (Councilman, utilities, etc.) provided
to the Lake Sherwood Acres area. Also, you will find information on
clubhouse rental, swim team, swim lessons and stickers for your
vehicles. Please attach the sticker to your rear bumper or window so
that our security officers can identify resident vehicles. A boat
sticker for your boat is available upon request.
