The lake is stocked with bass, catfish, and sac-a-lait, making it a favorite spot for fishermen. Fishing Rules Apply
Guests must have a valid Louisiana fishing license and be accompanied by a resident. Specific catch limits are enforced and some species must not be returned to the lake.
Rules for Lake Use
Resident Access
Lake use is strictly limited to Lake Sherwood Acres residents in good standing. Guests must be accompanied by a resident who assumes full liability for their conduct.
Boat Requirements
Only non-gas-powered boats are allowed. All boats must display official Lake Sherwood stickers with lot numbers, and stickers may not be shared or loaned.
Swimming Risks
Swimming is discouraged and done at your own risk. Jumping from bridges, trees, or structures into the lake is strictly prohibited for the safety of all residents.
Protect the Lake
Protecting the lake is a community responsibility. Dumping yard waste, food, or debris is prohibited and adheres to city ordinances to ensure water quality.
Fishing
Lake Sherwood Acres lake is stocked with bass, catfish and sac-a-lait. Appropriate fishing guidelines are established to preserve the health of the lake .
HOA Enforcement
The HOA has full authority to enforce these rules. Violations may result in a 1-year suspension of lake privileges. Homeowners are responsible for informing their renters.
Fishing Regulations
Fishing is limited to residents and licensed guests. Catch limits are strictly enforced. Safe fishing methods only; nets, trotlines, and yo-yos are prohibited.
No Structures Over Lake
Docks, bulkheads, ramps, or other structures may not extend into the lake. Approval is required for any in-lake additions (plants, wildlife items, etc.)
